Roleplay - 12th of June

The kits "raced" Sparkle, dooking happily.

When they saw Starlight, the kits skidded to a halt then quietly entered the burrow. "Can we see them?" Limmerick asked. Loki nudged up to Starlight and groomed her neck. She smelled sad for some reason and he wanted to make her feel better.

Skittles frowned and followed Limmerick and Loki. "There small kits, I'm sure you can take one look at them. And yes I promised I would teach you how to hunt, and I'm not breaking it." she squeaked.

The kits crept quietly closer to the youngsters. "Wow, they're so small," whispered Limmerick. "Too small to play," agreed Loki.

Limmerick very, very gently groomed one of the kits. Loki sniffed another. "When they're big enough, can we play with them?" he asked Starlight. "Maybe we can help teach them to hunt. I'll bet we'll be good hunters by the time they're big enough." Loki was interested in the kits but was hoping they were older, so they could play.

"I'm hungry," Loki mentioned. "Can I eat something?"

Limmerick sniffed the other kits, gently grooming a couple. She looked at Starlight to make sure it was ok.

Skittles rolled her eyes. "Your always hungry Loki." she whispered. "Come outside and I'll teach you how to hunt a mouse." she squeaked quietly. "After you eat, then we can go play in the tall grass, my favorite place to play." she squeaked softly.

"Alright!" he whispered back, a little more loudly than he intended. He was excited about hunting.

He looked at his sister, who seemed entranced by the kits. He was a bit unsure about leaving her, as they had never been separated since they were born. "Are you coming," he whispered.

"In a minute," she replied, looking at Starlight. "They're so pretty."

Loki looked at Skittles, then Limmerick, then the entrance to the burrow. He reluctantly started toward the entrance (reluctant to leave Limmerick).

Skittles hopped out of the burrow and waited for the two kits. She lifted her nose and smiled. "Perfect, Theres a mouse right ovedr there." she whispered. She looked down seeing if Loki and Limmerick were coming.

Starlight smiled to them.

Zorro ooked up, despite not having his eyes open, he growled at the two older kits.

Sugar squeaked happily as she was groomed.

Butterscotch pawed at Limmerick's nose playfully.

Hokey squeaked curiously.

The other three were asleep.

Sparkle smiled softly from the side of the burrow. Of course he would still fight to protect them like the others, but everytime he saw these kits it was like hearing Starlight choose JD instead of him all over again.

Skittles waited. She hopped back into the burrow and looked around for Loki and Limmerick. She spotted Sparkle and walked up to him. "Sparkle, Are you coming to watch me teach Loki and Limmerick how to hunt? You did say I needed an adult to watch over me and the kits while I do something like that. And we don't need an adult to come watch us while we play, I'll watch them." she squeaked.

Sparkle sighed. "Skittles, please promise me you won't lead these kits to danger. I know you think of playing in water as fun, not danger, but I hope what happened with Loki taught you otherwise." He said.

"I'm not going to play in the water! I'm going to play in the tall grass!" Skittles squeaked. "Yes I promise." she squeaked.

Limmerick giggled at the kits. "Why is that one so sad?" (Zorro) she asked. She noticed her brother waiting uncertainly for her. "Can I see the babies again?" she asked Starlight.

Loki stood at the entrance of the burrow, looking back at Limmerick, then outside uncertainly. He wanted to hunt but didn't want to leave her!

Limmerick gave the kits a final groom, including the growling Zorro, saying softly to him, "It's ok you're mad. I like you anyway."

Then she took off toward the entrance, calling to her brother, "I'm coming! Wait for me!"

Together the two kits raced out the entrance. In their excitement, they forgot to check if it was safe.

Skittles hopped out after them. She lifted her nose. "Your lucky the mouse is still there, We'll go and catch it." she squeaked following the mouse's scent.

The two kits followed closely behind, very energetic. "Where's the mouse?" Limmerick whispered.

"There." Skittles squeaked spotting the small little brown mouse.

Sparkle still looked concerned, but he followed them out.

"I see it!" Loki not quite whispered. He wiggled in excitement and started forward. Limmerick sniffed the air and moved a little to the right.

Starlight sighed at Zorro, he wasn't being his old self. He used to be the most adventurous and outgoing, but after the attack by the Mafia, he became solitary and agressive.

Skittles crept forward. "Okay, Do what I do." she got low to the ground and stalked the mouse. When the mouse looked concerned and stayed quiet. Once the mouse went back to eating she crept forward and waited for the right moment. "Okay, Watch this." she whispered.

Loki and Limmerick wiggled, trying to stay still. They held their breath as Skittles charged the mouse.

Sparkle smiled as he watched the kits.

Skittles raced at the little mouse. She reached forward and bit the mouse's back. She crunched hard and killed it. She grabed it and took it back. "Well, You could never catch it like that, Theres many ways to hunt." she squeaked droping the mouse. "You two can share it." she squeaked.

Suddenly Cracker Jack came in and snatched the mouse, "But first you gatta catch me!" he turned and raced off, hoping for them to chase.

"Cracker Jack!" Skittles looked at Loki and Limmerick. "You have to catch him if you want it!" she squeaked.

The kits looked shocked. "I'm hungry" wailed Loki. "Let's get him" squeaked Limmerick. Limmerick took off running after Cracker Jack. Loki looked like he wanted to cry but joined in the chase.

Sparkle couldn't help chuckling a little.

"Keep chasing" Limmerick huffed. She had noticed CJ was getting ready to turn at a tree trunk and raced to cut him off. Loki kept running behind, trying to catch up.

Cacker Jack stopped, he chuckled and turned and ran in the opposite direction.

Loki collided with CJ, as he was racing right behind him. But, still being the smaller of the two ferrets, he wasn't a match to stop him and was rolled over flat. Limmerick cut a sharp corner, muttering something impolite under her breath and started chasing CJ again. Loki rolled to his feet and hissed. He didn't think it was very funny.

Cracker Jack snickered then threw the mouse up into the air, "FLYING RODENT!!!"
