Roleplay - 12th of June

Megan nuzzled him hard, trying to get him to move, any sign of life would make her feel at least a little better.

Limmerick followed her brother, slipping a little on the muddy bank. "Loki." She nudged him and starting crying. "Please, I'm sorry. Don't die."

Loki laid still... his chest was moving, if you looked carefully

Skittles watched Loki. "He'll be okay." she told Limmerick hoping she was right.

Megan nudged him again. She nudged his head lightly.

Loki started coughing, hard! Some water came out of his mouth but his breathing got better. He blinked his eyes and shivered.

Megan sighed, "That's why we don't play in the water, it is far too dangerous, and it's no game."

"I'm sorry," Limmerick said sadly, "It was funny, going after the frog. He's not going to die is he?"

Loki coughed again and his breathing was getting a lot better.

"I don't think so, he just got a bad bump on the head."

Cracker Jack spoke up, "One of the many reasons to HATE getting wet."

Skittles frowned. "They're small kits, And I can handle being in the water. But I won't do it again." she squeaked. "And does it look like your brother is going to die?" she asked Limmerick.

"No, I guess not. But, he's just so still. I won't play in the water again like that. Promise."

Loki's paws twitched and he blinked again a few times. "Ow" he whimpered.

Megan squeaked to him, "How are ya feelin'?"

(Grr. I have to go. I'll be back on tomorrow. Bye!)

"Ok" He coughed. "Tired. And my head hurts a little."

He saw the tears on Limmerick's face, "Are you ok, dummy?"

"I'm not a dummy. You are." She replies. Then she stopped teasing, "I thought you were gonna die." She sniffed back more tears.

Loki tried to stand up but was a bit dizzy.

(Gotta stop for the night. Be on tomorrow evening.)

Megan sighed, "well at least you don't seem to have a concusion."

oo: Yeah me too, Cya I'll also be on tomorrow.

Sparkle frowned. "Skittles, you can't play in the water no matter how old you are. Even adults can bump their head, and drown. It has nothing to do with age."

Loki stood unsteadily. "I hate water" he hissed. He shook out his fur, falling over when he got dizzy. He blinked a couple of times, then dooked. Getting dizzy was fun. He got up and did it again.

Limmerick thought this was a fun game and fell down and rolled over with Loki. "I like water but I don't like you getting hurt."

Loki suddenly started coughing again, then threw up some water and mouse. "Ewww." He said.

Megan sighed, "come back to the burrow, you need to know where to go if you ever get lost."

"Ok" he squeaked. "Can we get something to eat, too? I'm hungry."

Limmerick rolled her eyes.

Megan smiled, "we may have to find something large to suit your appitite. I'll get something for you once we reach the burrow." She turned and padded off toward the burrow.

Cracker Jack followed closely.

Limmerick bounded ahead a little, then back to the others. Loki was content to walk along side the older ferrets. He still wasn't feeling too good.

Limmerick noticed a butterfly and jumped high trying to catch it. Soon she was chasing it through the area.

Megan squeaked, "I wouldn't wander too far if I were you."

Limmerick looked back at Megan. "I was just playing. How far is too far? Watch this:" Limmerick jumped as high as she could and tried to turn a complete circle in the air. She didn't- quite- make it, although she managed to land on her feet and not fall- barely.

(certainly playful little ones)

Suddenly, Limmerick froze and let out an alarm bark: "Air monster!" she yelled. And she dove for a nearby thicket of bushes. Loki looked up, squeaked in fright, and tried to find a place to hide. He saw a small boulder with a shallow hole underneath. He tried to dive in but part of his tail and hind end was still outside.

A crow calmly circled the clearning before starting to fly onward.

Megan squeaked, "Close, it's a crow, they aren't something you need to fear, it's the hawks, eagles, and falcons you really need to look out for, plus pleanty of ground dwellers, like rattle snakes, coyotes and bobcats."

Skittles growled at Sparkle and followed Megan and and the others. "Remember the time when me, you and Sparkle almost got eaten by a coyote? And I could catch that crow but I'm not, I'm to full." she squeaked.

The kits poked their heads out of hiding... "It's safe?" they asked.

"But once this big brown..."
"...it was black..."
"...brown...."
"...Black!!!"
(this goes on a few seconds)
"Anyway" Loki said... "This big thing came outta the sky and grabbed a rabbit and went away. All that was left was fur and blood... And it was brown."
(you get the impression the kits saw some sort of bird of prey striking a rabbit).
"Black"
"Brown."
Limmerick stopped suddenly, "How do you know it's safe?"

"You can catch a crow? How do you do that?" Loki asked, looking at Skittles with awe.

They slowly start easing out of their hiding places, watching the sky warily.

"We can tell because what ever would be up there, we'd be able to smell, there is no scent of a bird of prey so I doubt there is one around."

Skittles nodded. "Megans right. And yes I can catch it but I'm to full to eat, Unless you want me to catch it for you." she squeaked looking at the two kits.

Loki looked thoughtfully at Skittles, "You're teasing. You can't fly. How can you catch it? Can you teach me?" "I wanna learn, too"- limmerick added.

"I'm not teasing. I've catched many birds before. And of course I'll teach you." Skittles squeaked. She looked at the crow and went low to the ground. She started to creep up on it. "If you want to learn how to hunt you must watch me." she whispered to Limmerick and Loki.
