Roleplay - 12th of June

"Yeah, and you are a heavy sleeper, 'Prince time to wake up' just wouldn't cut it."

"Well you could have poked me or something. Although, as a prince, I think I should get to sleep as long as I want." Prince said.

Lavender narrowed her eyes, "In a world where you always have to be watching your back, the more time you spend aslep, theymore likely you will be attacked and killed by a predator."

Prince huffed but didn't reply. He started grooming his messed up fur.

Fuzzball gave one last chuckle and headed out to hunt for breakfast.

Lavender turned and followed Fuzzball.

Fuzzball soon caught himself a average sized rat and started to eat.

"Who would like the honor of catching my breakfast?" Prince asked.

"what kind of honor wpuld that be? Stupidity? YES!" She turned and strutted off, "catch your own food... unless you are lame and can't do it yourself," she turned and smirked at him, "does da wittwe pwincy need a gwon up to catch his food fow eem?" She stuck out her lower lip and widened her eyes ment to look very cute... in a mocking sort of way.

"I know how to hunt! Prince said. "But why should I muddy my paws hunting when I have ferrets to do it for me?"

"By not doing it you make yourself look weak and pathedic," Lavender smirked and tilted her head.

Prince sneered. "Fine then. I'll catch my own." He stalked off to hunt. Soon he spotted a small sparrow and creeped up on it. It saw him and flew away before he even pounced.

Lavender came over and smirked, "Smooth."

Arrow slipped away, she ran to the cliff edge where she'd last seen Diego, as if there was some crazy home in her mind that he may stil be there, but of course he wasn't. She sat at the edge looking down at the water, it was calm now that there weren't any storms around. She layed down and let her front paws droop over the edge.

She remembered that last moment, when she'd told him she loved him, and he let go of the branch, letting himself fall. Despite what he said, and the fact that it was true, that if she didn't let go herself, she would only have been dragged down with him. For some reason, she didn't believe that was the case.

As the night progressed, Keelin's pace slowed. She was tired and for such a little baby, the kit was getting heavy. She had no idea where the pack burrow was located. She found a safe hide spot and put Jericho down. "Stay here, little one, and stay quiet. I need to hunt. But, I will be back for you." Keelin carefully backed out of the hiding spot. The little one must be getting hungry but her babies had weaned long enough ago that she was no longer giving milk. She had to find the pack soon. Jericho needs food.

Keelin sniffed the air. There was prey. Carefully, she stalked the rabbit and pounced, killing it with a snap of her jaws. She carried the rabbit back to the hiding place.

Jericho was awake and starting crying for his mother and food when Keelin returned. Keelin curled up next to him and groomed him in comfort. "She wanted you to be safe, Jericho. She couldn't come with you but loves you so much." Keelin noticed the rabbit was a female and giving milk. She felt bad for her babies... but she had to eat and so did Jericho. She encouraged Jericho to try to drink the milk from the rabbit. "It might taste weird. But, if we can eat them, you can drink the milk."

(should Prince show up now?)

Prince gave Lavender a glare before trotted farther away to hunt.

(Sure)

Jericho growled, he refused to drink the milk, what Keelin didn't seem to understand was that to a ferret kit, the milk of another animal could be like poison, and deathly ill.

Lavender rolled her eyes and barked to the others, "C'mon Fuzzball and Coco, let the high horse have his hay." She turned and ran back to the burrow.

Arrow sighed sadly as she looked down at the creek. She closed her eyes, and a tear fell from her eye and into the water below.

Fuzzball darted after her.

Coco glanced at the way Arrow had gone before running after Lavender.

Prince was trotting through the territory. He stopped when he saw Keelin and Jericho. "Intruders!" He said. He wasn't snarling or anything, he didn't sound hostile at all. Just surprised. Prince hadn't scented them, and he wasn't prepared to fight or anything. Shocker.

Keelin groomed the kit... "Never mind. If it tastes different, you're not supposed to eat it. I'll just have to figure something else out."

Keelin looked up sharply hearing Prince approach. She stood in front of Jericho and studied the other ferret carefully. She made no hostile moves.

"Not dangerous intruders. We merely look for a safe place to live. The kit is Jericho. My name is Keelin."




(milk is milk... but, if it smells/tasts different, you're right that a kit might not eat. Different might mean posion= sick. Imprinting.)

Prince eyed them suspiciously. He was trying to act like he would attack if he thought they were lying (and he was failing), but really if he thought they were dangerous he would yell for Lavender and Fuzzball to fight her. "A place to live?" He inhaled through his nose. "You stink of Mafia. Why aren't you living there?"

(I saw it on animal planet, they were feeding a leapord cub milk from another animal, it was becoming weak and was loosing it's fur, if they hadn't switched to artificial milk formula, it could have died. Besides, I don't think he needs the milk, I saw a video on youtube and some kits, at least 9 days old were eating meat, and their eyes weren't even opened yet.)

ooc: Wait, the Prince Pack haven't even come across the Mafia yet, how would Prince know who they are?

bic: Jericho whimpered fearfully.

(eh, can i just say that they have a border with the Mafia and he's smelled them? somehow learned their name? please?)

(Kusuma, I didn't know that. Interesting. Prince would smell other ferrets on her. He may not know the name of the pack, but he would know she had lived with another pack.)

Keelin didn't think this ferret was a threat to her or Jericho but she still didn't want to give him easy access to the kit or turn her back on him. Still facing Prince, she crooned softly to Jericho, "It's ok, Jericho. He won't hurt you." With a little more force, she continued, "I won't let him." She was making a point to Prince, that she would protect the baby if he tried anything.

"The ferrets you smell on me are the Mafia pack. The leaders killed Jericho's siblings. And would have killed him. His mother asked me to take him to safety. I had scented your pack before and seen your patrols. I thought to try here for safety first. I am a solid hunter and warrior. I can bring skills to your pack."

Prince considered it for a moment. "On one condition. Will you catch me a peice of prey but let me tell my pack I caught it." Prince, well, he didn't really know how to hunt. A littloe, but that was mostly instinct.

(I know, I'm just trying to make this as realistic as I can.)

Keelin looked confused for a moment... then she studied the other ferret more carefully. "You came from humans, didn't you?" She smiled. "Sometimes we forget how to hunt when we've lived with humans for generations. It's harder for us to learn. I can teach you and not tell your pack, if you want. And I will catch you some food." Keelin was not judging Prince at all. She knew she was lucky that her humans also fed her raw prey. She also watched the cats hunting and had killed a mouse before she ever got lost. She really just wanted to help Prince learn without embarrassing him in front of his pack.

"Yes, actually, I came from the best human." Prince said. "But Lavender got us lost out here." He lied. It was really him who had gotten them lost. "And I know how to hunt...sort of. I just feel as a prince, someone else should hunt for me."

Jericho peeped, a reminder why Keelin was here in the first place.

Prince looked down at Jericho, really seeing the little kit for the first time. "He's so cute!" Prince squealed, making him sound like a little girl.

Keelin smiled. "He is. He's very young." Keelin figured Prince wasn't a threat and went to Jericho. She gently groomed him a few times, then looked up at Prince. "Then, I'll hunt for you. But, even a Prince should know how to find his own food. You never know when you might need to. She crooned to the kit, "I bet you are starting to get a little hungry. It was a long night. You'll eat soon."

Keelin looked at Prince, "Do you have any females who are nursing who might be willing to take care of this little one? He needs nursing." Prince seemed to be the kind of male ferret who cares about the young. "I will hunt for you after the youngster is fed, if that's alright."

"Um, no to the thing about." Prince said. "But he can eat meat, can't he?"

Jericho yawned, reavealing his teeth to be far too tiny for hard fleash. It would be a few more days before he could eat meat.

"Well we don't have any nursing females." Prince said.
