Ruby glanced at Charlotte. Her kit was dead. Wasn't she going to do anything? Ruby longed to bring Ned back, it wasn't fair! What had he done? It wasn't his fault he was smaller than Boon!

Charlotte saw Ned laying where he died, she turned fast and snarled to Al, "How DARE YOU!?!"

Al smirked.

Charlotte hissed, "That was supposed to be BOON'S first kill!!!" She snorted and left in a huff.

Ruby's eyes widened in horror. Charlotte wanted Boon to murder his own brother? Ruby shivered, not from the cold.

Al saw Ruby and narowed his eyes, he lowered his voice to a deadly tone, he whispered loudly, "Get used do it, dis is what it's like every day, so jest make sure you's aren't da one who ends up dead at de end of da day."

Ruby nodded, afraid if she spoke she would scream. She forced herself to stop trembling.

Al turned and stormed off.

Charlotte simply watched.

Boon crawled through the chambers and came up behind Ruby, he found her tail, thinking it was his pathedic brother Ned, he bit down hard on it, even though he didn't have any teeth yet, it still hurt.

Ruby screamed. She whipped around and swung at Boon with her paw. He was very tiny, and she sent him slamming into the wall. Relizing what she had done, Ruby wanted to go to him, pick him up and comfort him. But she remembered; Al might be happy with what she had done. So Ruby just sat there.

Al glared, she hadn't done the right thing, she shoudn't scream, she shoukd and go ahead and praise Boon for being evil. He came over and knocked her aside. Boon snarled and tried to attack Ruby, but was picked up by Al and carried away while clawing and barking furiously.

Ruby wanted to yell at Al. She comforted Ned, and he tells her to be more evil. She attacks Boon, and he glares at her. I can't do anything right. she thought gloomily.

Tank laughed at Ruby, "you're not evil! You jest a wannabe tough gal! HAHAHAHA!!!!"

Ruby bit back tears. She was sick and tired of these ferrets. She lept on Tank, clawing at his face. "Stop laughing at me!" she yelled as she bit down hard on his ear. She wouldn't win this, Tank was a great fighter. But she didn't care. Ruby justwanted to shut him up.

Tank thrashed and barked, "why you little brat!!!" he tossed and turned and threw ruby against the wall hard. He held his paw to her throat, he hind legs weren't touching the ground, which ment Tank was pressing his paw so hard agaist her throat, that it pinned her to the wall.

Al came through the tunnel and barked, "TANK! Release her!" Tank didn't bother protesting, he let Ruby fall to the ground.

Ruby fell to the ground. She stood up, shaking. She tried to breath steadily.

Al hissed, "You's ignored my warning kit, now you's gonna pay da price." He grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and hurled her agaisnt the wall, he turned and walked off, he didn't care if she lived or died.

"But, you said I should be evil! And treat everyone like an enemy!" Ruby protested weakly.

Al snapped at her, "you still must show respect! Which you obviously lack!!!" He looked ready to tear her into shreds.

"I'm sorry sir! I misunder stood your instructions! I will try harder! I will! I apoligize sir!" Ruby said.

Al snarled, "You'd better! Or else..." He opened his jaws to reveal long and savage teeth, his canines were stained with the blood of his past victims. He closed his mouth, "GOT IT!?!"

"Yes sir!" said Ruby quickly. I will follow his every command. I will not be killed by this ferret. she told herself.

Al barkws, "GOOD!!!" He turned and stormed out of the burrow grumbling.

Ruby layed back down, her back to the wall her face facing the others. If she was attacked, she would know it.

Al layed outside sitting under a tree cursing to himself.

Nick-Nack layed near Ruby, "Tsk,tsk," he closed his eyes and shook his head, "getting put in your place several times in one day, and on your first day, I'm amazed you are still in one peice!"

"It seems whatever I do is the wrong thing to do." Ruby said with a sigh. "Probably once I'm more used to the way things work around here I'll do better."

Nick-Nack smirked, "Trust me, this is only the beginning, you mess with Al and survive, you usually come out with a missing leg or... head."

"I'm trying hard not to mess with him. I really am trying my hardest." Ruby said.

Nick-Nack decided to give her some advice, "That's just it, you try too hard, if you try, you'll only mess up, normally it's the other way around, but hey, nothing is normal about this pack. If you just stop trying and lay low, you'll live."

"So just stay out of the way?" Ruby asked, slightly confused.

Nick-Nack nodded and looed up at her again, "Here, it is either fight or flight, and if you choose to fight with anyone in this pack... you're doomed."

"Got it; stay out of the way and don't fight with anyone in the pack. Anything else?" Nick-Nack was going to make her life here a lot easier.

Nick-Nack didn't seem to realize he was helping, "Also, never take on an enemy without Al's intruction, if you rush into a fight before his order, you might as well be our enemy, and we will be ordered to pull you from the fight and beat you."
