Well, usually, the way I do it is, every time I hear a song, I think about if I have any characters it might suit, or that it reminds me of. Usually I listen to playlists on youtube by one singer, they usually have songs on different subjects.

Like Rascal Flatts, The Words I couldn't Say: it's like Lavender, but from a male's point of view.

Avril Lavigne, Sk8er Boi: Reminds me a LOT of Amanda's point of view if she found out it was Lavender who liked Prince, its like there's a guy and a girl, she secretly likes him, but her friends say he's not good enough for her, she sees him years later as a huge star and wants to be with him, only to find that he already has a girl.

You just have to look at the stories behind each song, look at the lyrics and see what they mean.

Sk8er Boi kind of reminds me of Lavender too. As if Amanda was the singer, and Lavender the girl. I was going to have Prince like her, that's why he called her beautiful. But she was always mean to him and didn't show any sign of liking him. So then his feelings changed, and now he loves Amanda.

After that I was also thinking of a Lavender/Prince pairing, but I thought that Lavender would only act like that as a way of getting his attention without really knowing it, they say if someone taunts you like that, it really means they like you.

Yep, well, this causes drama and makes RPing more interesting, so I think it worked out well.

Me too. I was actually able to write a song based on Lavender's experience! Unfortunately I don't feel comfortable putting an unused song online to share until I know how to get copyrights so no one can steal it.
